We need 15,000 more supporters to meet the Miracle Challenge – Join Us!

It weighs 15,000 pounds and is the most complex outdoor display ever created here in Columbus, but the story behind the Miracles at Play Wallscape is what’s most amazing.

Have you been on High Street in downtown Columbus recently? If so, you can’t miss it. This project, completely donated to the hospital by Nationwide Insurance (how awesome are they!), was dedicated on Valentine’s Day, 2011.  It’s a 150-foot-tall virtual playground suspended off the side of one of Columbus Ohio’s downtown landmarks: the Atlas Building. Constructed of steel, vinyl and coroplast, it features 7 children, all with special connections to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Highlights include Lucas (budding philanthropist), hanging from monkey bars suspended between wings of the building, Savanna (cancer survivor) and Anna (asthma patient) who sit on a seesaw weighing approximately 4,000 pounds. They are all amazing ambassadors for the hospital. You can find more personal stories here.

The Wallscape is a community rallying call to join Miracles at Play online community. It’s free and is for anyone interested in learning more about the hospital and our mission.

Over the last six months more than 85,000 people have joined Miracles at Play (hooray), but our goal is 100,000 and here’s why. Wolfe Associates, Inc. will donate $1 for each person who joins the Miracles at Play movement during this limited time, up to 100,000 people. If we’re successful, the challenge will culminate in up to a $100,000 donation to the hospital. (Thank you Dispatch Group!)

It’s not too late to get involved! We still need about 15,000 people to complete the match and we’re hoping to get there by the end of October. Just by joining, you could help us complete the $100,000 Challenge and that could fund:

  • 20,000 packages of diapers
  • The toy room for almost 2 years
  • 400 patients summer camp experience
