Black Friday and Cyber Monday…Make Room for Giving Tuesday

It’s Official – The holiday season is in full swing…. Hanukkah begins December 8th and Christmas is just 29 days away! Black Friday and Cyber Monday kick off the official shopping season but now giving has added a date to the calendar. “Giving Tuesday” is being launched across the country tomorrow to transform the way people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. According to the Giving Tuesday website it’s a simple idea. Find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to join in acts of giving. More than 50% of American’s indicate they plan to make a charitable gift over the holidays. It’s also a great gift-giving suggestion – give in honor of a friend or loved one . They receive notification of your gift and you never have to worry about gift wrapping or wrong sizes.

Nationwide Children’s is excited to support this movement. No-one wants to think about a child in the hospital over Christmas but your gifts can really make a difference. We’ve launched an on-line gift catalog to make it even easier and offer many options for honoring family, friends and business associates. Your donations can fund Gift Cards for families, purchase toys for a hospitalized child, a personalized wagon for the hospital or even fund the final chemotherapy treatment for one of our cancer patients.

See the good your gift can do. For additional questions or gift-giving suggestions please contact Cathy Kellerman, Director of Donor Relations at (614) 355-0817.

PS – What about donating toys to the hospital? Yes, we welcome the donation of toys and much-needed supplies for the hospital. For a list of those items check out of our wish list.
